THE NIMBA IRON ORE PROJECT
The Nimba Iron Ore Project is expected to become a 10 MTPA iron ore operation in south-east Guinea, helping position the region as a global producer alongside Western Australia and Brazil.
Development Strategy
The first step has been to design an integrated development plan that ensures competitive operating costs, a phased capital approach, and a streamline rollout across the project.
Location
The Project is located in south-eastern Guinea, close to the borders of Liberia and Ivory Coast.
The Mine
The mine is located in the Forest Region of Guinea, within the prefecture of Lola, near the borders with Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia. Adjacent to the Nimba Range, the site benefits from a rich geological setting and favorable terrain.
Nimba Development Company is committed to operating the mine responsibly, in line with international best practices for safety, environmental management, and community engagement.

The Port
Our logistics plan includes the use of existing port infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire for the export of iron ore. The project leverages two main ports, San Pedro and Abidjan to ensure efficient, reliable export routes to international markets.
-
In San Pedro, we collaborate with ARISE Ports & Logistics, a key regional operator with extensive experience in port development and management.
-
For Abidjan, we work with Sea Invest, a well-established port and terminal operator with a strong presence across West Africa.
These partnerships ensure that our export logistics are supported by experienced international operators, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and long-term sustainability.
